JillaRate lets you search the official district rates and metropolitan city rates of Nepal — by fiscal year, in one place, without digging through long published PDF rate books.
Available now: Parsa District, Kathmandu District, and Kathmandu Metro rates (FY 2083/84).
With it you can:
- Search any work item by name (English, Romanized, or Nepali) or by its source reference — instead of scrolling tedious PDF pages.
- Open the District picker and tick one district to browse it, several to compare them, or All districts to search everything. Press Confirm to load your choice.
- Open Display to switch between Exact words (space-insensitive — “4color” finds “4 color”) and Allow typos (also matches inside words and tolerates small typos), or to change text size and results per page.
- Open the history (clock) icon to see an item’s rate across fiscal years, with the year-on-year change.
- Save items to My list, then export as CSV — or open a printable view to Print / Save as PDF. (On phones the buttons are Copy rates and View / Print.)
- Press and hold any item (or tap its price) to copy it — name, rate, unit, district and fiscal year — ready to paste into WhatsApp, a message or a sheet.
- Carry rates into the Nepal Construction Estimator — it opens in your browser — to build your own custom rate analysis.
More districts are being added, and rates are updated as each new fiscal year is published.
Frequently asked questions
What is JillaRate?
JillaRate is a free search tool for Nepal's official district rate books. Instead of scrolling through long published PDF rate books, you can look up the approved rate of any material, labour, or equipment item by district and fiscal year in seconds.
Which districts and fiscal years are available right now?
Currently it covers Parsa District, Kathmandu District, and Kathmandu Metropolitan City rates for FY 2083/84. More districts and fiscal years are being added over time.
Can I search every district at once, and what do Exact words / Allow typos do?
Tick more than one district (or All districts) in the District picker to search them together. Each district is downloaded once per visit, and multi-district results are searched when you press Search or Enter. Most relevant (the default sort) puts whole-word and exact matches first; choose Serial number to keep rate-book order. Exact words matches whole words (normal endings like cements, cemented, मिस्त्रीको, 16mm are allowed), so “opc” does not find “topcoat” and “coffee” does not find “coffeecient”. Spaces are ignored, so “4color” finds “4 color”; Allow typos also matches inside words and tolerates small typos.
Where do the rates come from? Are they official?
All rates are compiled from the official district rate books published by the respective district administrations. They are meant for quick reference — always verify against the original source document before using a rate in a tender or bill.
Can I search in Nepali as well as English?
Yes. You can search in English, Romanized Nepali (Nepali typed in English letters, e.g. "panja", "jyami"), or Nepali (Devanagari). Use the "Search in" toggles under the search box to choose which languages to search.
Can I search by the source reference number?
Yes. You can search by the item's source reference (for example "KMC T7"), and you can even mix a reference with a keyword, such as "KMC T7 panja" — the results will still match.
The item I want has a slightly different spelling. Will it still find it?
Yes. Joined or spaced words match either way even with Exact words — “4color” finds “4 color”, “coldmix” finds “cold mix”. Switch to Allow typos (under Display) to also tolerate small misspellings. If you don’t see what you expect, try fewer words or turn on more search fields.
How do I save rates and export them?
Tap the bookmark icon on any rate to add it to My list, then open My list from the top of the page. On desktop you can Download CSV or Print / Save as PDF; on phones, use Copy rates to copy the whole list, or View / Print to open a clean printable page you can save as a PDF.
Can I compare how a rate changed across fiscal years?
Yes. Open the history (clock) icon on any item to see its rate for each available fiscal year. When more than one year is present, the card also shows the year-on-year change.
How do I use these rates to prepare a cost estimate?
Carry the rates into the
Nepal Construction Estimator, where you can build custom rate analyses and full estimates using district rates as your base inputs.
Is the tool free, and do I need to sign in?
It is completely free and needs no sign-in. Your saved list stays in your own browser on the device you are using.
Compiled from official district rate books. Verify against the source before tender or billing use.
